Maderanged’s distinct lyricism, vulnerability, and charismatic production sets him apart as a storyteller and wordsmith aficionado. The Baltimore-based East African native first stepped into the hip-hop limelight in early 2022 with a flurry of singles that showcased a thoughtful introspection that has quickly developed into an integral part of his brand. His single ‘hopscotch’, lead single from his upcoming EP titled ‘Bleak EP’, has garnered over half a million plays across streaming platforms and is his most successful single to date.
Influenced at a young age by the likes of Andre 3000, Lil Wayne, and Lupe Fiasco, maderanged first began to explore his musical acumen at age 13 by producing instrumentals. He quickly transitioned into a vocal role as one half of duo ‘Misfits 1&2’, formed with close friend and early collaborator PhD. Upon moving to the East Coast at age 18, maderanged doubled down on his dedication to his craft, performing freestyles and unreleased singles at small venues.
As he gears up for the release of his debut EP, maderanged has continued to consistently release new music. His latest single, titled ‘boogeyman’, showcases the emcee weaving in and out of rhyme schemes with impressive dexterity, and serves as an iron-clad testimony to his dazzling lyrical abilities. He has shared via social media that he is currently orchestrating the production of a music video for his popular single ‘hopscotch’, describing the video as ‘eccentric and fully animated’.
