Writing and producing honest and personal music out of his flat in Auckland, NZ; 22-year-old musician, Theo Sawyer writes about navigating the ups and downs of life.
In August 2022, New Zealand-based musician, Theo Sawyer released his debut single 'Forget Your Ex', a post-break-up anthem dedicated to those who want to put the past behind them and move onwards to new and exciting things, without fear of what is to come. Theo also released his second single, 'Love Drunk' (October 2022), a nod to the euphoric feeling and hopefulness/uncertainty of new love when falling for somebody; highlighting the universal feeling and common dilemma that “we all just want to be in love”.
Theo's third single, 'Download A Ghost' (out December 9th) is his most personal and raw song yet that he says is: "both reflective and observational. How we can ‘download ghosts’. Distractions. Another quick and easy dopamine hit because it feels better than looking inward. This song is for anyone who has made the same mistakes as me. We have all had to step into the responsibility of not needing someone to fix our problems".
As 2022 draws to an end, 'Download A Ghost' is a taste of what style and mood of music that is to come as we enter 2023. He hopes that his music can connect with people on an emotional and honest level; by realising we're all doing our best and learning along the way.
