Crystalskin

Details Below

Born in Brewster Washington. I have been an artist ever since I can remember, always coloring and doodling on my papers. As I got older I just never stopped. My childhood had a lot of trauma, and music was the best escape for me. Now that I'm older I want my music to do exactly that for someone else, help them escape or just help them in anything they need even if that's just to make their day a little more enjoyable.

I started playing guitar when I was about 12 and dove into drums, guitar, piano, and singing as time went on. Drums and percussion is where I spent the most time. I think art in any form is more necessary than people think. I can't picture a world without it and I can't see myself not creating in some fashion. With Crystalskin I just write what I feel, that's what I always try to tell myself when I write "write what you FEEL not think". It's used to express myself and to hopefully connect with the listener. If I could describe Crystalskin it would be dreamy but also lethargic, happy but also sad.

As an introvert (borderline anti-social) I like speaking with more than just words. As expressed in my other two projects called Lidocaine Lounge and Android Visions. Lidocaine Lounge is ambient at its core but is mixed with other genres such as neo-classical, downtempo, etc. That is a recurring theme in all of my music, most of my music is hard to define with a genre label. At first I hated it but now I embrace it and it's my favorite part about my music. Art is a reflection of the artist, and I think my music is a prime example, being an outcast all my life. Android Visions is electronic music, mixed with glitch, idm, etc. (Also a good excuse for me to just write exciting percussion).

I love exploring every nook and cranny music has to offer and I think growing up listening to some of the most extreme and harsh music has opened my mind to everything else. I enjoy blending genres and norms to hopefully create something both unique and something I'm proud of. Like a painter that is using a weird mix of colors. Music has saved my life, I can say that with out hyperbole. I hope my music can help someone else too. I don't see myself ever quitting music.
